STE CECs

Project Overview

Funding: European Commission Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Standard European Fellowship (2 million SEK; September 2021- September 2023)

Host: Prof. Isaac Santos (University of Gothenburg); Secondment: Prof. Nils Moosdorf (Leibniz Centre for Marine Tropical Research, ZMT)

Objectives: My main objective is to investigate coastal groundwater discharge as a pathway for emerging contaminants to reach the coastal ocean. This will be investigated through a a combination of field, lab, and modelling work revealing how biogeochemical reactions within the coastal aquifer interact with emerging contaminants prior to and after release to the coastal ocean.
